The City of Edgerton provides water and sewer service for most residents and businesses in Edgerton as well as a portion of the surrounding area. To obtain assistance with billings, hook-ups, disconnections or other utility questions contact the City Office at (913) 893-6231.
Billing Cycles – Mail Dates
Meters are read on the 20th of each month and your water and sewer service statement will be mailed on the last working day of each month and covers utility usage for the preceding month.
Payments for utility services are due within fifteen days of the billing date. The bill must be paid in full by this date to avoid a 10% penalty. Failure to make payment on or before the 25th of each month will result in disconnection of service. Utility bills are payable by mail, drop box or in person at the City Office. A drop box for your convenience is located on the front of the Community Building, 404 E. Nelson. Payment may be made by cash, check or money order.
Reconnection fees, in addition to payment in full for service, must be paid prior to reconnection of service. Reconnection fee during office hours is $25.00 and $50.00 for after hours reconnects.
New residents and transferring utility customers are required to complete an application for water service and pay a water customer application fee in the amount of $30.00. No deposit is required and the water service fee is non-refundable. Unless an emergency exists, water services are connected and disconnected at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

$12.16 for each additional 1,000 gallons
Sewer Rates
$3.61 minimum monthly charge
$3.44 per 1,000 gallons of usage
For residential contributors, monthly user charges will be based on average monthly water usage during the months of January, February, and March. If a residential contributor has not established a January, February, and March average, the monthly user charge shall be the median charge of all other residential contributors.
For commercial or industrial contributors, user charges shall be based on water used during the current month. If a commercial or industrial contributor has a consumptive user of water, or in some other manner uses water which is not returned to the wastewater system, the user charges for that contributor may be based on a wastewater meter(s) installed and maintained at the contributor's expense in a manner acceptable to the City.
